 STREETSCAPES FESTIVAL-CINCINNATI

Frederic Leighton- Flaming June
For the past 5 or so years, my brother-n-law, sister-in-law and I have been participating in the Streetscapes Festival in Cincinnati, Ohio.  This 2 day festival features teams of local artists do pastel recreations of famous works of art on the street in Clifton.  Artists make chalk for this event (that's right make chalk),in a workshop about a month before the event.  It is challenging and tiring, but we love doing it.  At 6:00pm on Sunday the street is opened back up to traffic and cars, and weather gradually take these beautiful works of art away.
Chuck Close- Streetscapes Festival, Cincinnati,Ohio
It's an awesome experience, one I look forward to every year. Choosing a work of art and making that work come to life on the street is really magical.

Our most challenging work by far was Chuck Close, diamond, by diamond we carefully recreated the artists circles, shapes, and colors.
Hard work, but well worth it.
